The Society recently acquired an early 20th century plate. The plate was imported from Germany by Jonroth Studios, the name used by an American importing company, John H. Roth & Co. The company was founded in 1909 and imported china from Germany, Japan, and England. As a label on the back indicates, the plate was sold locally by Fleming & Bryant, which was located on Newcastle Street, Brunswick. Fleming & Bryant sold books, postcards, stationery, fancy glass goods, and hand painted china.
