School Tours

Coastal Georgia Historical Society is delighted to offer school tours of the St. Simons Lighthouse Museum and the World War II Home Front Museum.

School tours are offered to public, private, and homeschool student groups, as well as other chaperoned youth organizations.

Group Qualifications:

Guided school tour groups must have a minimum of 10 students and a maximum of 100 students to be considered.
Each museum tour is approximately one hour long and led by trained volunteer guides.
Tours can begin at:
- 9am
- 11am
- 1pm
- 3pm

If you would like to tour both museums in one day, your group will need 3 hours total time.

In order to receive the school tour rate, we must receive a single payment for the entire group the day of your visit. Tickets are $3 per member of the group, per museum. (Additional chaperones outside the student/teacher ratio of 10:1, within reason, will be $9).
Tours must be booked at least one month in advance to ensure the availability of our volunteer tour guides.

You also have the option of choosing a self-guided experience, depending on the size of your group.

If you are booking a tour on the weekend, or a holiday that we are open, you must self-guide. (pricing and payment requirements still apply)
